La segunda variedad de oliva que Biosasun – Oleohealth emplea en sus diferentes tipos de aceite de oliva virgen extra que elabora, es la variedad de oliva Arbequina, siendo la variedad mayoritaria, la variedad autóctona de la zona de Tierra Estella (Navarra) donde estamos ubicando, la variedad Arroniz
It owes its name to the town of Arbeca, although it is also called white. It is the most common variety in the province of Lérida, especially in the region of Las Garrigues, and is also common in the province of Tarragona (Campo de Tarragona, Bajo Campo, and the regions of Ciurana de Tarragona and Riudecañas). This variety is used to produce oils with the Garrigues and Siurana designation of origin. It was planted by the troops of King James I on his return after the conquest of the Balearic Islands. Its cultivation has spread to Andalusian and Castilian-La Mancha provinces due to its early entry into production, high productivity, good fat yield and excellent quality, although its yield is low. This olive produces very aromatic oils, green in colour at the beginning of the harvest, almondy, neither bitter nor spicy with characteristic olfactory notes.
Geografía de cultivo: Desde su inicio de cultivo, se extendió por Cataluña dando personalidad a sus producciones y actualmente está extendida a nivel Estatal

Producto: Su aceite está muy bien valorado, aunque su estabilidad es baja. Comercialmente tiene tirón, gracias a su aceite de bajo amargor y picor y notas frutales acentuadas. También se utiliza en coupages

Otros datos: Su limitante principal, la baja estabilidad de su aceite. Es curioso leer en publicaciones antiguas un siglo atrás, cómo los viveristas ya hacían publicidad de esta variedad aseverando sus virtudes. De hecho, existen plantaciones de olivos casi centenarios en Andalucía, por ejemplo, cerca de Linares.
